Aquatic Scientist Josie Mulcahy founded the business Seaweed Sally in 2002 primarily visiting kindergartens. With expansion into working with schools and the public we have decided to launch - Southern Ocean Education.
For 10 years we have been providing high quality, educational, ‘hands on’ marine experiences with the live animal ‘touch tank’ and preserved marine specimens and we will provide a program tailored to suit your specific needs.

We operate from our purpose built facility in Parkdale, with a DPI fisheries permit to collect, keep and display live and preserved local marine life. All programs are delivered by passionate, qualified staff dedicated to empowering the future guardians of our oceans with the knowledge and therefore appreciation of our marine environment and the life within it.
